As a member of the Digital customer journeys team, the Email Designer role will be responsible for producing creative assets supporting multi-channel, personalized customer journeys that are activated through the email channel. This role requires a creative personality who thrives adapting and creating campaigns that are channel optimized and best in class.
Here?۪s Where You?۪ll Be Focusing
- Design email marketing campaign assets that resonate with customers starting with an understanding of their needs and key consumer drivers learned through research and engagement data.
- Work with Digital customer journeys teammates to present recommendations and solutions that align email marketing and communication strategies and that supporting overall campaign objectives.
- Understand and align to brand and campaign values and respect production guidelines in order to recommend unique email solutions.
- Manage execution of email strategy from template design and testing and content development.
- Provide recommendations and guide the implementation of a range of email approaches including targeted or mass promotion-based campaigns, newsletters, announcements, and transactional messages.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and internal consultant on email marketing strategies to other teams by advocating for best-in-class email marketing practices.
- Knowledge of graphic design, interactive design, information architecture, typography, accessibility requirements and aesthetics as well as staying up to date on emerging technologies and best practices.
- Willingness to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment side by side with various marketing teams where development and design are driven by tight timelines.
- Strong project management skills and highly professional communicative with an excellent attention to detail

What You Have To Offer
- 3???5years of consumer-oriented email marketing experience required using Salesforce Marketing Cloud: Cloud Pages, Smart Forms, Email Studio, Journey Builder, Mobile Studio, Automation studio.
- Proficient in Marketing Cloud Connector, data extensions, integration with external systems (API) and hands-on knowledge of data integration with Marketing Cloud.
- Experience with and understanding of all aspects of direct to customers and personalization (email, push, SMS, etc)
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Sketch.
- Litmus and/or Email on Acid email client test environments
- Email marketing legal requirements and best practices experience required.
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications preferred, including Marketing Cloud Developer and Marketing Cloud Email Specialist.
- Front-end web development experience preferred, including responsive website design, front end scripting, and various forms of online marketing including mobile, social, content, email, etc.: experience with HTML/CSS and JavaScript and responsive design.
- Experience with marketing automation and customer journey design preferred.
- Google Analytics experience preferred.
- Strategic marketing experience preferred.
- Graphic Arts or Graphic Design/Desktop Publishing Certificate/Diploma
- You have superior written and oral communication skills in both French and English. (The candidate will be expected to work with peers in other provinces in the development, development and implementation of tools and processes across Canada, as well as provide support to Sobeys employees across Canada)
