If you answered yes, our Chalk River location is looking for an Electrical Engineer to contribute to the development of conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs of electrical power systems.. Can you see yourself providing integrated project management, engineering, design and construction services for nuclear and non-nuclear facilities, and R&D experiments at the CRL site? If you answered yes, then this may be the job for you!What will you be doing! Design of retrofits and modifications to existing electrical engineering systems.Design of electrical distribution systems, medium and low voltage (Class I through Class IV) power supply systems, alarm systems, lighting systems, etc.Specification of technical components for electrical systems.Perform electrical power studies (e.g. load flow, short circuit, coordination and arc flash) using power studies software (preferably ETAP).Preparation of design documentation including design plans, concept reports, design requirements, design descriptions, design manuals, design guides, technical specifications, and technical notes.Preparation of project documents including customer proposals, work plans, schedules and estimates.Engineering support during the construction, installation and commissioning project phases.Customer liaison.Develop engineering specifications and standards facilitating a consistent design approachWhat We Are Looking ForBachelor (Honours) degree in electrical engineering from a university of recognized standing; or membership in an engineering professional organization authorized by statute to establish qualification for membership in that organization.The preferred candidate is registered in a PEO Engineer Internship Training Program.2 years of relevant experience is considered an asset.Engineering oversight experience to various sizes of jobs is considered an asset.Experienced in performing electrical power studies using software such as ETAP.Experienced in the maintenance of electrical systems or equipmentAbility to exercise sound judgment in technical matters, to routinely solve technical problems and to make recommendations.Excellent oral and written English communication skills; previous experience making technical presentations to small and large audiences.Demonstrated knowledge of engineering codes and standards used in the design, construction, and commissioning of industrial facilities.Demonstrated knowledge of CSA N286/N285 quality standards is preferable.Excellent knowledge of CNL’s engineering practices, organization and quality management program is preferable.An excellent understanding of the regulatory and QA requirements is requiredSecurity clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom.Why CNL?
