Job Summary
The Department of Psychiatry is a clinical academic department within the Faculty of Medicine. Reporting to the Operations Manager, Education Coordinator is responsible for administering and coordinating the Department of Psychiatry’s continuing professional development program, Geriatric Psychiatry Subspecialty training program, the fellowship program and the Global Psychiatry Graduate Program.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Geriatric Subspecialty Director. Assist in the organization of curriculum.
- Provide support to the Geriatric Psychiatry Subspecialty Training Committee, the Competency Committee (Evaluation Committee), and the Curriculum Retreat. Set up meetings, take minutes, follow-up on outstanding issues, prepare accreditation documentation.
- Provide administrative support to the Global Psychiatry Graduate Program Committee; prepare information for admissions review and fast-tracking review including calculating GPAs, summarizing transcripts, CVs, and letters of interest. Coordinate annual review of student progress.
- Provide support to the postgraduate fellowship program. Act as principal contact and primary resource for recruits, staff, faculty, department head, and leadership. Coordinate recruitment efforts to attract internal and external candidates to the graduate and fellowship programs.
- Act as the principal contact and primary resource for continuing education activities while independently coordinating the monthly, annual and periodic activities of the program.
- Provide administrative support to the director of education and coordinate the monthly meetings of the Education Management Team Committee (EMT).
Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Business/Office Administration program plus approximately five years progressively responsible and related experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Experience with videoconferencing and various software packages (e.g. Adobe Professional, Excel, database systems and Word) as well as the ability to learn new software.
- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills as well as tact, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills, and the ability to work independently.
Assets
- Experience in a health professional education environment, and knowledge of medical education programs and/or academic health care environments.
- Knowledge of One45, Brightspace and/or Sharepoint.
