The Opportunity
The Early Childhood Development office for the Anglophone-North district is looking for a hard-working, dynamic individual to fill the role of Early Learning Consultant. The Early Childhood Development Division is responsible for the development and implementation of the New Brunswick Child Care Curriculum. Our vision is to build an early learning and childcare system of high quality that families can rely on and where every child receives appropriate services enabling them to reach their full potential.

The Role
Reporting to the Regional Director of Early Childhood and Development and working with the early childhood teams in the school district, the successful candidate will collaborate in the design, planning, facilitation and delivery of training to early learning childcare staff.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Provide access to resources, materials, and on-site support to increase administrator and educator understanding of high- quality practices related to language-rich programs, inclusionary practices and responsive environments for young children.
- Provide on-site coaching and mentoring based on individual facility needs and challenges focussed on curriculum implementation, inclusion, and quality.
- Support the development of quality improvement plans focused on improving practices and understanding of the Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework.
- Support inclusionary practices and implementation of inclusion policies.
- Provide professional learning sessions and workshops tailored to needs of community-based initiatives and other early childhood programs and services currently under the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and the districts.
- Participate in joint initiatives within the School District to support positive transitions and learning experiences during the early childhood period 0-8.
- Lead and support a collaborative approach for professional learning focused on enhancing reflective practice, advancing pedagogical leadership and building upon existing quality.
- Co-construct, plan and modify professional development and workshops learning modules individually, as a team and in collaboration with the Early Learning Specialist that align with the curriculum framework and based on observations and feedback from the sector.
- Promote the Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework to a variety of audiences to inform and increase public understanding.
- Evaluate the implementation of the Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum framework using specific tools such as the Collaborative Assessment Tool. Communicate with and recommend compliance directives to the Quality Assurance Monitor, as appropriate.

We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
To Be Successful In This Role You Have
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field such as Psychology or Education, and a minimum of four (4) years experience in the field of early childhood development and/or Education. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Extensive knowledge of and practice in the Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework or Curriculum éducatif des services de garde francophone du Nouveau-Brunswick.
- You have experience in facilitating meetings and trainings for groups, either virtually or face-to-face, and in coaching individuals.
- You have the ability to adapt quickly, provide high quality customer service and collaborate with other team members and partners.
- You are customer focused and able to operate within the values of the New Brunswick Public Service.
- Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.
Nice To Have
- Experience with various types of technology that facilitate communication and collaboration via distance.
- Knowledge in adult learning principles.
- Extensive experience and knowledge related to developmental or curriculum theory.

Wage
Pay Band 4: $54,548 - $76,284 annually.
Work Environment
- Office location: ASD-N Miramichi.
- Standard hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; evening and weekend work required (occasionally).
