Direct Delivery Driver

Community Courier, part of the Micco group of companies, is a same-day delivery company providing quality service to customers in HRM and Nova Scotia. Our drivers are the face of the business and are responsible for completing safe and efficient same day deliveries directly to customers homes and businesses throughout HRM. We are currently seeking a 5 Ton Truck or Courier Van driver to join our team in Bedford.

Requirements:

• 6 months -3 years experience driving professionally preferred.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (required)
• Minimum 19 years of age, with an acceptable drivers abstract and the ability to provide a clean criminal background check.
• Availability - shifts vary Monday to Friday (8:00am - 4:30pm, 9:00am-5:30pm, 10:00am - 6:30pm) and Saturday (9:00-5:30pm)
• Ability to multitask and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drive a 5-ton, cube truck, or delivery van.
• Business to business, and business to consumer deliveries ranging from documents to pallets.
• The ability to handle unassisted deliveries weighing up to 50-75 lbs.
• Load & unload deliveries with manual or electric pallet jacks. MHE training and certification is considered an asset.
• Use electronic shipping software to map routes and complete deliveries.
• Complete vehicle logs and driver records.
• Provide excellent customer service. Our team is polite, resourceful, and professional in all interactions.
• Any other duties as required.

Salary: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
