The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to join our dynamic team as a Counselor with Blue sky. Reporting directly to the Counseling Services Director, the Counselor will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care and therapeutic mental health counseling services to individuals facing personal challenges, fostering their journey towards overcoming obstacles and achieving personal objectives.
What you'll bring?
- Degree from an accredited university in social work, counselling psychology or related field. Master's degree considered an asset.
- A minimum of five years professional experience within a counselling, coaching or related residential environment.
- Training and experience in the delivery of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy to individuals and groups or willingness to obtain.
- Licensed registration with the appropriate regulatory association.
- Training and experience in the provision of counseling services to individuals who experienced trauma. Certification as a trauma-informed practitioner is considered an asset.
- Training and experience in practice with various counseling approaches, Client-Centered, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused, Systemic, Motivational Interviewing etc.
- Experience in crisis intervention and the ability to respond to the emergent needs of individuals.
