Commercial HVAC Sales Representative The Day to Day: We are looking for an established technical sales representative who is willing to grow with a leader in the HVAC/R industry. The basic function of the Commercial HVAC Sales Representative is to promote all the mechanical and air distribution manufacturers that we represent, and to provide accurate and timely support to all stakeholders in the HVAC industry, while building and maintaining internal and external relationships. You will report to the Regional Vice-President, who will mentor and train you on the Price way of doing business. The successful candidate's responsibilities will include: Develop and maintain relationships with all industry stakeholders (Engineers, Architects, Contractors, Developers, Owners etc.), to grow sales and expand market share in accordance with company goals and objectives. Carry out product selections for engineers and design/build contractors. Be able to interpret schedules, construction drawings, specifications, etc. Be able to do take‐off’s, prepare quotations and tenders, prepare and issue submittals. Project manages the entire sales cycle from initial enquiry through end of warranty period. Self‐educate, and attend manufacturer’s factory / training visits, to ensure you are constantly up to date on the latest product developments and software tools. (Occasional travel to US and throughout Canada.) Visit job sites regularly and when on site troubleshooting is required. Be an active member in the ASHRA community. Pro-actively participate in networking opportunities. Assist the division manager and/or other sales team members on an as needed basis. What We Are Looking For: Theoretical knowledge or education/experience with HVAC mechanical equipment. A Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Engineering Technology, or P. Eng would be an asset. Aptitude to learn how to read and interpret building specifications, blueprints, and as-builds. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and being computer literate. Self-motivated , personable individual who is eager to learn. Excellent customer service skills. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Valid driver’s license and a clean safe driving record. An ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to travel across Canada and US for product trainings at various factories. Sales Representative - HVAC The Day to Day: Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Salesperson will be responsible for the complete sales cycle, customer experience, and overall wellbeing of the air distribution customer accounts. This individual is to call on, service, maintain and develop the accounts assigned to them. The position consists of being on the road for site and clients visits, as well as being in office providing technical support for quoting, preparing proposals for submission, processing orders, tracking orders and troubleshooting. Traveling to the USA and across Canada will be required for ongoing training. Good communication skills, self-motivation, and a desire to learn are essential to this role, as well as the flexibility to deal with changing priorities and the ability to reliably respond in a timely manner. Responsibilities, including but not limited to: Provide outstanding customer service, with a Customer First approach to business. Build sustainable customer relationships and trust with customer’s account through open communication. Prepare job bids in a timely manner using Price and other suppliers’ software. Schedule, prioritize, and manage Bid requests from assigned customers with Inside Sales Estimators. Send out and deliver quotations by phone, email and in person. Follow-up bids, pursue and secure orders for Price and partnered suppliers. Prepare and verify submittals drawings based on current drawings and specifications. Meet with customers and assist as required on Design Build opportunities. Organize job files, contract and warehouse orders, and all necessary documentation for assigned customers working with Accounting and Warehouse management. Resolve all account conflicts and project issues in a timely manner. Participate in job site product issues and resolutions with assistance from technical representatives. Self-educate, and attend manufacturer’s factory / training visits, to ensure you are constantly up to date on the latest product developments and software tools. (Some out of province and US travel will be involved.) Represent EH Price at site meetings as required. Assist in all customer events as required. This could be open houses, sporting events, lunches, etc. What We Are Looking For: 5 years of outside sales experience in the HVAC industry University Engineering degree or College Technical Diploma or equivalent number of years of experience in a similar business environment. Ability to read Architectural and Mechanical drawings. Excellent verbal and written and communication skills. Experience in a sales or manufacturing environment. Proficiency in MS Office, with a comprehensive understanding of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook. Leadership and management experience. Strong attention to detail with an interest in process improvement. The ability to prioritize and multitask and meet deadlines. Effective organizational and analytical skills. Desire to advance within the organization by taking on increasingly challenging tasks as well as supervisory functions. An ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
