Job Title: Bar Manager

Reporting To: Food & Beverage Manager - Dalvay by the Sea - D.P. Murphy Hotels

Terms of Employment: Full Time - Days, Evenings, Weekends

The start date for this role is April 2024 through October 2024.

Location: Dalvay by the Sea, Prince Edward Island

Job Description: As the Bar Manager at Dalvay by the Sea, part of D.P. Murphy Hotels, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of bar operations. This role is central to delivering exceptional beverage service, creating a vibrant atmosphere, and ensuring operational efficiency and profitability of the bar.

Position Responsibilities And Expectations

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the bar, ensuring high standards of customer service and experience.
  • Develop and implement innovative bar menus, including cocktail lists, wine selections, and other beverages.
  • Train and supervise bar staff, promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stock control, and minimizing wastage.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and alcohol service laws.
  • Manage bar financials, including budgeting, cost control, and maximizing profitability.
  • Create a welcoming and lively atmosphere that refiects the prestige and character of Dalvay by the Sea.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Work closely with other departments to offer cohesive and superior guest experiences.
  • Organize and manage special events, promotions, and bar-related activities.

Job Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Bar Manager or similar role in a high-end hospitality environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of bar operations, including mixology, wine service, and inventory management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work fiexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality service and promoting a positive team environment.
  • Legal certification or training in alcohol service (e.g., Responsible Beverage Service Training).
