Sims Corner Steakhouse & Oyster Bar
At Sims Corner, we believe that perfectly aged steaks, big wines, and genuine hospitality make an incredible guest experience. Our culinary team has been a major pillar in what makes us Atlantic Canada's premier steakhouse. We focus on fresh Island-raised products, using one hundred percent Island beef, along with fresh locally sourced produce.
As Assistant General Manager, You Will
- Oversee the successful running of the restaurant, working to achieve the financial, marketing, and human resources goals and objectives as set by Murphy Hospitality Group.
- Demonstrate and communicate the Sims Corner vision to all team members and lead by example.
- Assist in team member hiring, and experience in recruiting and training new team members is an asset.
- Ensure team members provide a memorable guest experience through coaching and fostering a positive working culture by reinforcing the MHG values daily, exciting team members with their positive nature.
- Encourage a culture that revolves around memorable guest experiences, craft beer, and quality food.
- Work with the restaurant management team to ensure successful restaurant operations, developing workloads, providing mentorship and coaching.
- Guest and team member management through conflict resolution and problem-solving.
- Building and maintaining authentic relationships with guests and team members.
- Assist front-of-house team members as needed, including hosting, bartending, serving, and expediting.

- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, juggling different priorities.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
- A goal-oriented individual with a desire for personal and professional development within the hospitality industry.
What You Bring
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in business or hospitality is an asset
- 1+ years of experience in front-of-house restaurant management considered a strong asset
- Wine/ cocktail knowledge is an asset
