Position Purpose:
The overall duty of this position is to oversee the day-to-day operational shop activities for Saint John, New Brunswick and oversee the regions Asset controls. The Asset Coordinator is responsible for the allocation, organization, calibration, tracking, preventative maintenance, disposal and repairs of all equipment/vehicles in the field. The Asset Coordinator works closely with operations management to ensure clients needs are met by dealing with issues proactively, recommending solutions and providing superior client service.
Due to the nature of this position there will be on-call and overtime requirements as well as some travel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the acquisition, inspection, maintenance, use and disposal of equipment and materials and complete associated documentation and record keeping.
- Allocate equipment and materials to the appropriate office/location and/or technician and keep associated documentation and records.
- Advise site and/or operations management when allocated equipment is missing.
- Ensure equipment is maintained, calibrated (if required) and fully operational and in optimal working condition prior to re-assigning it.
- Purchase equipment and supplies adhering to corporate purchase order (PO) policies.
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors and co-workers.
- Calibrate equipment at required intervals and complete associated documentation and record keeping.
- Support field personnel by packing and shipping replacement equipment as required.
- Prepare products or materials for shipment by packaging items for shipment.
- Prepare bills of lading and maintain documentation of goods shipped.
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Maintain asset and inventory control database and inventory records for all equipment.
- Maintain approved vendors list for shipping/receiving, purchasing of equipment and materials and maintenance as per quality program requirements.
- Purchase project equipment and materials, technical office supplies and personal protective equipment at each location.
- Maintain adequate inventories in order to meet the business line needs for all offices.
- Assist and organize the functions and activities related to the servicing, operation, maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report to the corporate office on vehicle maintenance, servicing, and repair.
- Coordinate activities associated with vehicle monitoring system (GPS) with the HSE department.
- Work with operational management to determine vehicle and equipment needs for the various sites and resolve related issues.
- Support with software tool directives for asset coordination activities.
- Other duties including cross training amongst peers may be assigned as deemed necessary to support operations.
- Adheres to organizational policies and procedures, including but not limited to Applus Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Agreements.

Education and Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in asset coordination.
- Prior NDE industry experience is an asset.
- Forklift certification and experience is an asset.
- Equivalent industry experience combined with other formal training and accreditations may be accepted.
Working Conditions:
- Required to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid and dry/arid conditions in temperature extremes and inclement weather.
- Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials in various working environments.
- Commonly exposed to walking on slippery or uneven surfaces.
- Occasionally required to work in noisy/loud working environments especially on project sites.
- Work outside of normal business hours will be occasionally required.
- Overtime required during the week and weekend with work volume.
- Ability to be flexible with work schedules and respond to requests without advance warning or notification.
