About Our Opportunity


The Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and administration of the Nova Scotia Film and Television Production Incentive Fund as well as various related film initiatives. The Fund supports film and television productions in the province by providing financing to Nova Scotia production companies. The Program Coordinator is responsible to have an in-depth understanding of program objectives and eligibility criteria to administer and complete the application processing and reporting related to the Fund, as well as other assigned programs. Delivering a superior level of customer service to CCTH's clients, the Program Coordinator provides timely follow up, responsiveness to inquiries, and efficient review of applications received to deliver a quick turnaround in processing application times.


This position reports to the Manager, Film Fund, Culture and Heritage Division.

Primary Accountabilities


  • Review and process Nova Scotia Film & Television Incentive Fund Program (NSFPIF) applications.
  • Effectively manage competing deadlines and expectations, contact program applicants directly to advise of decisions made with respect to their application.
  • Conduct preliminary determinations regarding program eligibility and to note deviations from guidelines.
  • Prepare complete application packages for review by Manager, Film Fund.
  • Following applicable legislations and internal practices, succinctly prepare commitments via Incentive Agreements as required and amendments if necessary, and draft applicable memo(s) for review by the Manager, Film Fund.
  • Create reports to track film incentive agreements, important dates, initiatives, and disbursements. Employing best practices in methodology for effective data collection and presentation
  • Ensure accuracy for the NSFPIF budget, update and problem solve any reconciliation issues, work independently, employing best practices to ensure budget is correct.
  • Maintain electronic film portfolio files, and maintain statistical and financial records pertaining to NSFPIF program.
  • Other duties as reasonably required.

Qualifications and Experience


To be successful in this role, you have a post-secondary degree plus three years?۪ related experience. Experience working in a financial or government office environment is considered an asset. An acceptable equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

With a strong client focus, you will possess excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills using tact and ensuring confidentiality to establish effective relationships with a variety of internal and external clients, including other levels of government and sector related entities.


You are required to exercise good judgment and initiative, acting independently on inquiries, and making decisions where circumstances align with program standards. You can manage multiple priorities during busier times, with demonstrated skills in organization and prioritization.


Proven proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet management, and e-mail software, for example (Word, Excel, Outlook Project, and PowerPoint) will also help you in this role.

Proficient tracking and assessing client files for compliance.

Able to juggle various tasks at the same time. Superior coordination skills and effective in execution of events and activities.

Collaborative and focused on solutions and positive outcomes; able to work well with staff, co-workers, peers and managers; shares critical information with everyone involved in a project; helps to maintain cooperation and contributes to the high functioning of the work group.



Personally accountable; completes work in a timely, consistent manner; works hours necessary to complete assigned work; regularly present and punctual; arrives prepared for work; committed to doing the best job possible.

Working Conditions


  • Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day
  • May be required to work overtime on occasion

Additional Information



This is a Temporary employment opportunity with anticipated end date of June 24, 2024. The appointment status Temporary is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.

Pay Grade: PR 06 - PR 10

Salary Range: $1,915.37 - $2,746.69 Bi-Weekly
