Who We Are
We invite you to join the Tourism, Heritage and Culture team! Administrative Service Assistants work collaboratively to support Tourism, Archaeology and Heritage, Sport and Recreation, Parks and Capital, Arts and Culture, and Corporate Services divisions. You will have the opportunity to work in support of what our beautiful province has to offer.
What You Will Do
The duties and responsibilities, depending on the position, include:
- Preparing, proofreading, formatting, and tracking correspondence
- Coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes
- Providing telephone and receptionist duties
- Screening all incoming calls and forwarding to the appropriate staff as well as answer public inquiries
- Opening, reading, sorting, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail
- Initiating requests for translations using the TRMS system
- Reserving meeting rooms and equipment
- Coordinating travel and accommodation arrangements
- Verifying and assigning financial coding, managing payment of invoices and budget tracking
- Assisting with the overall financial monitoring of budgets and the preparation of quarterly reports
- Creating and formatting documents at an advanced level
- Performing a wide variety of confidential and delegated duties using considerable independent judgment, initiative, and discretion
- Performing other related duties as required
Work Environment
- Office location: Fredericton, Marysville Place
- Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:15-4:30 (in-office)

Need to have
Level 3
- A high school diploma or GED supplemented by the successful completion of a one (1) year post-secondary diploma in the secretarial/clerical field or office administration, plus a minimum of 3 years related administrative work experience OR High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of 4 years related administrative work experience.
- Strong experience working with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.
Level 4
- A high school diploma or GED supplemented by the successful completion of a one (1) year post-secondary diploma in the secretarial/clerical field or office administration, plus a minimum of 5 years related administrative work experience OR High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of 6 years related administrative work experience.
- Strong experience working with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.
Nice to have
Behavioural Competencies: Client service orientation, concern for order, effective interactive communication, results orientation, teamwork and cooperation, and initiative.
Technical Competencies: Ability to use Microsoft Office technology, software and application, records and information management, planning and organizing skills, and written communication.
Wage
$1,625 to $1,971 bi-weekly ASL 3
$1,816 to $2,205 bi-weekly ASL 4
