Job Description
Position Overview:
Under the general supervision of the Sergeant i/c of the Street Crime Unit, this position is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to all employees of the Street Crime Unit. Must be prepared to work outside of regular working hours.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives and directs telephone calls; obtains and provides the available information or refers
caller to the proper authority
- Prepares work and overtime schedules for members of the Street Crime Unit
- Collects, analyzes, and evaluates data for reporting purposes
- Coordinates departmental communications
- Orders and maintains office supplies
- Schedules and manages meeting agendas and appointments
- Creates and maintains recordkeeping systems
- Records and documents meeting minutes
- Opens, sorts, and distributes mail
- Performs other administrative duties as required
Essential Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and general office equipment
- Strong organization skills
- Approved Saint John Police Force security clearance
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- The successful candidate must possess an Administration Professional diploma from the New Brunswick Community College or Business Certificate 1 from UNB or an equivalent program.
