Position: Mobile Refrigeration Technician

Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia

Reports into: Branch Service Manager, and/or designate

About The Role:

Over the past 25+ years, Atlantic Carrier, a division of Reefer Sales, has become the leading provider of temperature-managed transportation hardware, equipment, service, and support across the Atlantic Provinces.

We maintain and repair Carrier Transiciold, Starcool, Daikin, and Thermo King brands of transport refrigeration equipment to manage temperature-controlled environments for food and other perishables - for both over-the-road and marine.

Job Duties:

Repair & maintenance of reefer equipment on trailers, containers and gensets (including diagnostics, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, recommendations, repairs and component replacement, and estimates. Repairs could involve soldering, welding, repairing refrigeration leaks and other types).

Requirements:

• Factory training would be an asset
• Mechanical, HVAC or refrigeration background experience required (advanced Senior tech position)
• Ozone Depletion Certificate preferred
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean abstract
• Hand tool experience a must
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and email as technicians are required to maintain records through our Dispatching App;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to be self-managed;
• Able to work in non-climate controlled environment daily
• Evening/weekend work is required periodically for on-call rotation
• Ability to regularly lift and or move up to 25lbs/12kgs, frequently lift and or move up to 50lbs / 23kgs and occasionally lift and or move up to 100bs / 45kgs;
• Must have a "go getter" attitude and strong customer service skills.

Schedule:

• 8 - hour shift (available for day, evening, and night shifts - must be flexible)
• Eligible Overtime

License/Certification:

• driver's license (required)
