We are actively looking to fill the following full-time role at our McCreedy West Mine site located in Levack Ontario. Longhole Miner – Posting ID # 2024-01 (1 Positions) Scope of the role Under the direction of the Underground Supervisor the incumbent carries out all routine duties of underground muck cycle. Duties would include operating, monitoring and daily inspections of equipment and ground control for proper operation while complying with all safety procedures. Specific Duties and Responsibilities Safe operation of haul truck including pre-ops Remote mucking including primary and secondary mucking Follow all remote mucking procedures and safety protocols. Remote stope and development prep including services, ventilation and communication Safe and proper communication on ramps and throughout mine site Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively Able to follow instructions, including daily line up and ad hock tasks throughout shift Follow all company policies, standards and safety procedures, including daily safety cards and all pre-operating inspections and checklists Maintain a safe and organized work area at all times Ability to work independently or within a team QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE 1. Previous Related Work Experience Required Minimum 5-10 years previous experience in underground mining industry 2. Education Required High School Diploma or equivalent Common Core modules required: U0000, U0001, U0002, U00012, U0022. U0010, U0091,U0080, U0082, U0005, U0013, U0003B, U0011, U0024, U0028, U0014, U0020, U0068A, U0068B, U0027, U0006, U0004, U0093, U0069, U0090. Please provide a current copy of MTCU transcripts 3. Special Skills and/or Knowledge Required Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations and problem solving ability. Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50-75lbs. 4. Special Equipment/Computer Knowledge Required Sound knowledge of mining processes such as such as surface and underground protocols. Ability to use personal computer including basic skills such as Microsoft outlook, and general software usage would be an asset.
