Reports to: Front Desk Supervisor
Job Type: Full Time Seasonal (April through October)
Location: Inverness, Nova Scotia, B0E 1N0

Position Overview
As a Front Desk Agent at Cabot Cape Breton, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, embodying the spirit of hospitality and professionalism. Your role involves warmly welcoming guests, assisting with check-in and check-out procedures, and providing essential information about the resort and its amenities. You will handle reservations, answer phone inquiries, and address guest requests with efficiency and courtesy. Attention to detail is key as you ensure accurate billing and maintain up-to-date guest records. Your exceptional customer service skills, friendly demeanour, and ability to multitask will create a positive and memorable experience for our guests, setting the tone for their stay at Cabot Cape Breton.

  • Customer Interaction: Take satisfaction in providing exceptional customer service, engaging with guests in a friendly and professional manner, and assisting them with inquiries, check-ins, and check-outs.
  • Problem-Solving: Embrace the challenge of addressing guest concerns and resolving issues promptly and effectively. Enjoy finding solutions to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Organization: Appreciate managing reservations, keeping track of room availability, and handling paperwork accurately. Enjoy maintaining an organized and efficient front desk area.
  • Multitasking: Find fulfilment in handling multiple tasks simultaneously, such as answering phone calls, managing reservations, and assisting guests. Enjoy staying composed and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Product Knowledge: Have an interest in knowing about the resort's amenities, services, and local attractions. Enjoy sharing this knowledge with guests, providing recommendations, and enhancing their overall experience.

Preferred qualifications and skills:
  • Guest Services experience or enrolled in a post-secondary Hospitality program
  • Excellent computer skills, experience using a reservations system considered an asset
  • Excellent telephone and in-person communication skills

Requirements of the role you should be aware of:
  • Based on the nature of our business and the service we provide to our guests, to work with us, you must consent to a criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional criminal background check every two years.
  • As a seasonal resort business, you can anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work.
