Our advisors are their advisors—the people who have always been by their side and know every acre of their local area. sollio.ag/en Our sector is seeking a: Strategic Buyer – Crop Nutrient 006947 Status : Professional, Permanent, Full Time Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, the incumbent will be responsible for leading the purchasing process, including sourcing, negotiating and purchasing goods and services in line with the organization's requirements and financial objectives. The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge of procurement processes, market analysis and supplier management, and will be committed to achieving savings, improving efficiency and mitigating risk. Roles & Responsibilities Understand the networks requirements to develop a purchasing and a sourcing strategy with streamlined approach that leads to improved price competitivity, product availability, sustainability, and quality. Lead the end-to-end procurement process, including requisition review, supplier selection, contract negotiation, management and execution, order placement and tracking. Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions and new supplier offerings to develop purchasing strategies and decision making. Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective communication, collaboration and conflict resolution. Create and manage strategic partnership agreements with selected key suppliers. Oversee stock inventory and position alignment with the purchase strategy and supply and demand plan. Continuously monitor and evaluate suppliers' operational performance using KPIs, provide feedback and make recommendations for improvement. Provide procurement expertise to support decision making across the organization. Manage relationship with other departments, internal and external stakeholders to support overall organizational goals and objectives. Coach and support junior procurement team members, sharing best practices, knowledge and insights. Based on your portfolio, work closely with internal business partners to ensure accurate production to reduce supply issues. Based on your portfolio, monitor all contracts with foreign exchange exposure and futures exposure strategizing action plans to minimize risk and lock in targeted preferred prices to reduce costs of the commodities and increase competitivity. Based on your portfolio, responsible for establishing and maintaining pricing models. Based on your portfolio*, read markets to strategize during bearish and bullish trends and recommend product pricing strategies to the network. Work closely with logistics to ensure optimum planning and execution of contracts to maximize efficiency and cost reductions. Participate in continuous harmonization improvement initiatives relating but not limited to process implementations, daily work instruction, procedure development and governance on best business practices. Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and organizational policies relating to procurement activities. Depending on the candidate's place of residence, the place of work may be either our Montreal, QC office or our Belton, ON office. WHAT YOU BRING Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a similar role. Agricultural background would be an asset. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with procurement software. A team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.
