Job Description * Foster growth and positive life choices, while promoting individuals in becoming connected to their community and First Nation traditions. Maintain a social and emotional climate within the alternative home that is therapeutically oriented and follows the clients’ treatment goals to include communicating with the client in a respectful and professional manner exhibiting empathy and understanding. Assist youth/child in identifying attainable short and long-term goals, strategies for meeting these goals, and an action plan for implementation. Address serious behavior, mental health, emotional, and addiction struggles through counselling, implementing special covenant, defusing/managing critical incidents, supportive relationships, and referrals to your supervisor to aid in other programs and or community service providers. Exercise good judgment in making quick decisions if required to act in a crisis. Our current openings are : Full-time, part-time and casual Qualifications: Degree or Diploma in any of the following: Human Services Child and Youth Early Childhood Education A Bachelors Degree OR Demonstrated experience working with individuals with any of the following: autism, mental illness, learning disabilities, behavioral issues, special needs, etc. Other requirements: Criminal Record check with vulnerable sector screening, Social Development Check and drivers abstract. Valid driver's license Training in First Aid, Suicide intervention, non-violent crisis intervention etc. will be considered an asset.
