Job Code No. 3318319School District No. 58 (Nicola-Similkameen) serves the two communities of Merritt and Princeton, six First Nations Bands, the Métis and the Conayt Friendship Society. The mountains, lakes and valleys within the district make it a natural setting for fabulous, year-round outdoor activities. We offer a warm small-town atmosphere where relationships are fundamental to our success.Merritt, where the office is located, is in the Nicola Valley and is the hub of a highway system that links Kamloops, Kelowna, and the Lower Mainland. We are proud of our work towards Truth and Reconciliation.School District No. 58 (Nicola-Similkameen) is accepting applications for qualified BC Certified Teachers.Required QualificationsDemonstrate successful primary/intermediate/secondary level teaching experience.Possess strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills.Have the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with staff in a team setting.Have the proven ability to meet the needs of diverse learners through application of differentiated instruction.Be knowledgeable of the new BC curriculum.Have an understanding of Aboriginal culture and be willing to learn and integrate Indigenous teachings into the curriculum.Be available on a daily basis for the school calendar year.Teaching category five or higher.Valid B.C.
