The Opportunity:
We are hiring for a
Shift Manager reporting tothe Operations Managerwithin our
Papermill Operations department at Irving Paper, located in Saint John, New Brunswick.

The successful candidate will lead a skilled unionized operations team in a safe and effective manner in a 24/7 operation. They will apply a continuous improvement approach to daily tasks, leading teams and driving performance.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, demonstrated leadership experience and a proven track record on performance and results. Previous experience in the Pulp & Paper Industry would be an asset.
Key responsibilities:
- Leadership, support and direction to a team of employees
- Ensure the safety, environmental, quality, production and cost targets are achieved
- Daily management tasks including administration of the collective agreement, time system management, employee performance and development
- Identify areas for improvement within the operational areas they support.
Requirements:
- Education Required: Completed bachelor?۪s degree in Engineering or 2-year post-secondary education in a related technical program.
- Familiar with computerized operations and administrative systems.
- Strong communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Available to work shift and additional hours during shutdowns to support operational requirements.
