The Opportunity

BMW/MINI Moncton is seeking an Automotive Shop Foreman/woman to work in the Service Department. They will be the Senior Technician, responsible for dispatching work to the Technicians and ensuring that quality standards and productivity requirements are met. He or she will act in the capacity of Service Technician as necessary.

This is a “working Shop Foreman/woman” position, therefore the successful candidate must be a red seal Licensed Automotive Service Technician.

Responsibilities

As a Technician, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair vehicles.
Dispatch jobs to Technicians, based on skill set and time requirements.
Supervise the work of Technicians to ensure work is being performed efficiently, correctly, and meets quality control standards.
Instruct, mentor, and coach Technicians and Apprentices on service best practices.
Work with Service Manager to resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of service technology and techniques.
Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Licensed Automotive Service Technician is required
Previous experience in a similar role is an asset
Have a valid driver's license and a clean driver’s abstract
Ability to self-manage in a busy environment
Experience with routine maintenance operations.
Leadership ability and team-building skills to effectively supervise professional and non-professional staff required
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
Must be able to push, pull and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 50 pounds.
