Reporting to the Associate Director, BPO, and working as part of a broader team of roughly 25 people in Halifax, the successful candidate will provide a full range of fund accounting services for one or more fund of funds (FOF) clients.

Responsibilities will include NAV preparation and review, review of corporate actions, verification of security pricing and performing cash and security position reconciliations. Further duties will include the preparation of fee schedules, P&L allocations, liquidity reporting, and additional ad hoc client reporting.

The Senior Fund Accountant, BPO will liaise with various external and internal parties as required to ensure all deliverables and requests are met. This is a directly client-facing role; the ideal candidate has strongly developed interpersonal skills and adopts a proactive approach to communication. Fostering positive, mutually beneficial interactions with the client will be critical to success in the role

• Relevant industry experience in accounting or operations for alternative investment funds
• Understanding of securities such as equities, bonds, forwards, futures, options, etc
• Experience with investment company accounting either in an asset management firm, a fund administrator, or an accounting firm
• Strong computer skills with strengths in Microsoft Office products (proficiency in Microsoft Excel)
