Prepares entries for posting related reconciliations, write offs and adjustments. Examining and reconciling AR and AP records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Executes period end closing activities and completes month-end close checklists. Reviews classification of expenses and capitalization of significant expenses Preparation of information returns such as Revenue Canada, Statistics Canada and the Ministry of Health. Preparation of variance analysis to identify significant monthly or year-to-date variances. preparation of annual budgets Responsible for preparation of monthly forecasting for each home/facility/branch in coordination with operational staff Prepares management reporting packages. Generates standard and recurring management reports. Ensures timely submission of required government and regulatory reporting. Collaborates, builds, and maintains relationships with operational staff. Leverages financial, business, and accounting knowledge to drive process improvements and create efficiencies. Fulfill ad-hoc assignments and special requests as needed to support the financial objectives and operational needs of the organization. Job Requirements: College or bachelor’s degree in business/accounting 3-5 years of related work experience and good understanding of financial statements CPA Preferred or in final stages of obtaining designation. Solid accounting background and experience – Long Term Care experience preferred. Excellent Excel skills, be able to draw conclusion from analyzing the large dataset. A Vulnerable Sector Screening check completed in the last 6 months. The ability to read, write, and communicate orally in English. Experience in a Long-Term Care Home or with seniors preferred Proof of full immunization (2 doses) against COVID-19, in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care's Long-term care home COVID-19 immunization policy .
