Reporting to the SVP, Financial Operations & Reporting, the Senior Director, Financial Reporting will supervise four individual contributors. This role will be an integral part of Finance Leadership and responsible for delivering exceptional support across Q4 by overseeing the Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting, Treasury, Tax and Corporate Accounting Teams. You will lead those individuals to ensure Q4’s Financial Reporting is complete & accurate and in accordance with Accounting Standards (IFRS and/or US GAAP).
In partnering with the Financial Operations and Financial Planning & Analysis (“FP&A”) Teams you will be supporting the timely and accurate delivery of Q4’s financial statements, both internal and external, Tax and Treasury Compliance and ensuring Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (“ICFR”) and IT General Controls (“ITGC”) are updated and reflect current business processes. You will partner with Q4’s external auditors and be the point of contact for internal discussions on the impact technical accounting pronouncement and interpretations have on business discussions. You will partner with Q4’s external Tax preparers to coordinate income tax and sales tax filings.
- Coordinate and be the first level review of the Company’s Financial Statements and Footnote disclosures and ensure all supporting workpapers are complete, accurate and free of material misstatements.
- Coordinate and be the first level review of the Management Discussion & Analysis and ensure all supporting workpapers are complete, accurate and free of material misstatements.
- Coordinate and be the first level review of the monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc Audit Committee reporting packages.
- Coordinate and be the first level review of governance reporting that require financial disclosures and information.
- Provide accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analysis to senior leadership including recommendations to improve financial performance while ensuring compliance with IFRS.
- Lead the timely, accurate and complete monthly financial book close process utilizing Floqast.
- Oversee ownership of our ERP System, NetSuite, by closing periods, and partnering with the Financial Systems Manager to ensure CoA changes are processed correctly and in accordance with external and management reporting requirements.
- Lead a team of Corporate Accounting professionals to ensure workpapers supporting financial statements and related MD&A are prepared timely, accurately, and free of material misstatement.
- Partnering with the Director, Financial Operations and IT, Implement and maintain robust internal controls over financial reporting (“ICFR”) and IT General controls (“ITGC”), while updating existing processes to adhere with an ever changing and growing Company.
- Advise on financial reporting impacts by partnering with the Director, Financial Operations and FP&A Team as well as Business Operations, on matters that drive improvement in business performance, including, but not limited to, SKU design, product development to sales workflow and contract language updates.
- Provide technical guidance to the financial operations team and gain a thorough understanding of the transactional flow of data that impacts financial reporting.
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, communicating, and enforcing Technical Accounting policies and procedures to the Director, Financial Operations and FP&A team.
- Protect assets by monitoring, and enforcing internal controls over cash.
- Lead banking relationships and partner with Senior Leadership on Risk advisory and coverage.
- Ensure that effective internal controls are compliant with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Oversee and monitor treasury operations.
- Oversee compliance with corporate, state and local tax compliance, and transfer pricing regulations as well as other regulatory reporting requirements.
- 10+ years of increasing responsibility and leadership, with related SaaS/Software/Tech experience.
- Effectively communicate with upper management and the Audit Committee, including periodic presentations.
- Experience establishing and managing international accounting with foreign entities, transfer pricing, multi-currency, intercompany consolidation accounts and foreign providers.
- Experience (both technical and operational) with a recurring revenue business model—SaaS experience is highly desired.
- Must be a hands-on, roll-up your sleeves type that enjoys a fast-paced environment.
- Highly skilled at technical accounting with a comprehensive understanding of GAAP/IFRS.
- Detail-oriented and analytical with solid organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Non-business hours activities such as critical client events, escalations and holiday coverage (this position may require after hours, weekend and holiday support as needed for earnings and/or emergencies.)
