About The Opportunity
Under the direction of the Manager, and under the supervision of therapists, the Rehabilitation Assistant, as an active member of the patient care team, works with individuals, families and groups to help educate and promote movement, occupation, and function. Working collaboratively with their team, the Rehabilitation Assistant is responsible for the safe and proficient delivery of activities that have been assigned by the therapists for patients coping with limitations in movement and daily function. They help enable clients to meet their expected outcomes by contributing to the implementation and to the modification of rehab programs and services. The Rehabilitation Assistant also checks and cleans equipment, maintains treatment and storage areas and may order necessary supplies. The successful applicant may be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade 12 or GED
- Rehabilitation Assistant Program (which includes both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy components)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Previous experience in inpatient acute care considered an asset
- Ability to communicate well with both patients and their families and staff
- Good interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively with team members
- Organizational ability to complete assigned work and manage changing staffing and caseload levels
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics
- Demonstrate basic computer skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
- Shifts include weekdays, scheduled weekends and holidays
Compensation and Incentives
$22.72 - $25.82 Hourly
