Prep Cook
Job Description
This position will involve both work in our prep kitchen and work as a line Cook
Job responsibilities will include:
- Performing routine kitchen tasks.
- Checking par levels to create and/or follow prep lists to plan and organize daily requirements.
- Receiving and storing food orders twice weekly.
- Labelling and storing all ingredients so they can be organized and easily accessible.
- Measuring ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
- Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep.
- Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
- Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces, baking and par-cooking menu items.
- Ensuring that all food and other items are stored properly.
- Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.
- Comply with food safety, cleaning and sanitation guidelines.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
Prep Cook Qualifications / Skills:
- 2 years experience
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques
- Organizational skills
- Patience
- Manual dexterity
- Communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to stand for 8 hours
- Ability to lift 50 pounds

Salary: $15.00-$19.00 per hour
