The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.
Reporting to the Manager/Director IPPL, the Critical Care Paramedic Educator is responsible (in collaboration with key stakeholders) for the assessment, implementation, planning, evaluation and supportive application of existing and new clinical knowledge and the translation of knowledge to practice. The primary focus of the CCP Educator is to build capacity for all classes of paramedics and be present at the point of care to contribute to the development of their core competencies. As a member of the IPPL team, the CCP Educator works with IPPL team, clinical leadership and staff, to foster person centered, collaborative care and collaborative interprofessional relationships. The CCP educator facilitates and/or coordinates learning that builds capacity, supports, and advances professional practice and maintains and develops evidence-based standards of care. The CCP Educator acts as a resource to clinical leadership and staff related to the application of relevant legislation, professional credentialling, and standards of practice. The CCP Educator practices in accordance with the Paramedics Act, Regulations and By-Laws and CPNS Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. This position will support paramedic practice at the Halifax Infirmary ED site and occasional cross-coverage of other EDs within CZ.
Please note this position requires periodic travel to facilities with Nova Scotia. A valid driver’s license and access to transportation is required.

$40.69 - $44.96 hourly
$79,342 - $87,677 annually
$46.54 hourly ($90,745 annually) with 25 years' Paramedic experience
