What you will do?
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is seeking six (6) individuals to join the Miramichi District as Operations Worker I, working with the Bridge Crew.
As an Operations Worker I, you will work under the direction of the Bridge Supervisor and be responsible for:
- Performing general maintenance, repairs, and construction of bridges, building, and grounds.
- Cleaning, painting, scraping, shoveling, sandblasting, and jackhammering.
- Loading and unloading supplies and equipment.
- Operating various hand tools.
- Installing signs and controlling traffic.
- Performing formwork.

- Work location: Bridge Division, Miramichi District
- Work holidays, weekends, shift and/or variable hours.
- Exposure to dust and fumes
- Working from heights.

Essential Qualifications
- Completion of grade ten (10) and a minimum of one (1) year experience in the operation of light equipment.
- Experience with Construction / Highway.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Asset Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate experience in the maintenance and construction of bridges. Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY: $21.87 per hour, based on 40 hours work per week.
