Job Description

Position Title: Land Office Administrator

Reports to: Rector and Wardens, the Land Committee and Parish Corporation

Responsibilities: The Land Administrator is responsible for executing the tasks detailed by the Parish to manage the land holdings of the Anglican Parish of Shediac. Specific duties include responding to leaseholder inquiries and concerns, dealing with various professionals in relation to land management, facilitating land sales and leases in accordance with Parish and Diocesan policies and procedures, issuing invoices and receiving payments, maintenance of properties, preparing budgets and reports for Parish Corporation.

Environment: The Parish Land Office at the Hall is open to the public from 8 AM to 12 PM each weekday. The Land Office Administrator will work, in the Land Office, an average of 35 hours per week, which may include some offsite work.

Duties:

  • Work closely with the Land Committee Chair, Wardens, Treasurer, Land Committee, Diosceson Office, and Office Administrator.
  • Be the liason on behalf of the Parish, relating to the land owned by the Anglican Parish of Shediac. This work includes, but is not limited to, meeting with people, receiving or returning telephone calls from/to those who have questions, express concerns or require information on leases, road conditions, boundary lines, land sales, etc.
  • Monthly site visits to the Parish land holdings, and communicate as appropriate, any required work or issues.
  • As the Parish liason, meet as required with law firms, surveyors, engineers, appraisers, planning commissions, municipal administration personnel and all other resource people to help the Parish manage the land holdings.
  • Send invoices, collection notices (with a defined follow up procedure) receive and record payments.
  • Prepare leases, process tax bills, affidavits and other legal documents.
  • Coordinate all necessary information/documents for land sales and leases, and present to the Land Committee, Parish Corporation via Vestry, and Dioscese, to approve and facilitate transactions.
  • Assist, and act as a resource, to the Parish in developing long range plans for Parish land holdings.
  • Timely communicate all new requests, or updates, for potential land use to the Land Committee Chair, Wardens and Rector.
  • Create monthly statistical reports of all expenses and revenues, to be reported to the Land Committee.
  • Present written and oral reports to monthly Land Committee meetings, Vestry and Congregational meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Limits of the position:

Due to the nature of the work, certain information must be held in strictest confidence. The signing of a confidentiality agreement will be required. Work will be conducted in accordance with all applicable laws and diocesan and parish policies, particularly the Diocese of Fredericton’s Safe Church Policy.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $36,000.00-$40,000.00 per year
