We are looking for a candidate to fill a Mechanical position in our Vaughan location. The successful candidate must have perfect command and fluency of the English language as client interaction will be a key component of success. Excellent command and expertise with AutoCAD is a must, REVIT is preferred. We are looking for an individual that is interested in growing with our company in a mutually beneficial arrangement. This position will focus on all mechanical components of building construction. Our core workload includes multi-residential (apartments and condos), commercial (medical offices, restaurants, stores, professional offices, pharmacies) and industrial (food industry, logistics, pharmaceutical, warehouse), etc. EME also specializes in rainwater harvesting and geothermal. Job Description: Commercial & Multi-Residential Mechanical Systems Design including HVAC, Plumbing and Sanitary, Storm, Fire Protection & Sprinkler Systems. Conduct field visits and assist in feasibility studies and create design criteria to meet client’s expectations Create concepts and develop detailed designs, tender packages, and construction documents Perform calculations and prepare drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical proposals Assist in equipment sizing and selection Read, understand, and apply Ontario building codes and CSA, ASHRAE, and NFPA standards Assist in ensuring quality standards and project deadlines are met Aid in problem solving of issues within projects administrated by Designers and Engineers Able to manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity at the same time. Able to work in a stand-alone capacity. Any other tasks assigned by Principals or Project Managers required to assist in the success of the firm QUALIFICATIONS: Expertise with AutoCAD is required. Working experience with Revit is an asset. Ability to develop and coordinate 3D construction models. Must be a team player with strong technical and communication skills. Must be fluent in the English language. Excellent verbal and writing communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple projects within a fast paced environment. Must have a minimum of three (3) years of related design experience in mechanical construction for building systems (HVAC and Plumbing) Strong working knowledge of Ontario building codes and CSA, ASHRAE, and NFPA standards Ability to work and apply technical resources with minimal supervision Superior computer skills including MS Office, AutoCAD, REVIT and other design tools Willingness to learn and/or be familiar with various HVAC, plumbing systems and develop layout of pipe and duct runs in co-ordination with the structure, electrical and architectural components The amount of experience would adjust the level of responsibility of the successful candidate's position Strong understanding of mechanical construction, installation methods, technologies, planning and management, commissioning process, etc. Strong knowledge of all mechanical systems from both the design and installation perspectives including: HVAC systems, piping systems and plumbing systems.
