About usThe Ortus Club is a B2B marketing company specialised in virtual and in-person knowledge-sharing discussions. We run approximately 50 events a month for our clients and help them create environments that can start meaningful business relationships, globally.The RoleAs a freelance Master of Ceremonies, you will be in charge of representing The Ortus Club at one of our events, helping coordinate specific event details with The Ortus Club team, and ensuring a smooth guest experience for the duration of the event. Among other things, your responsibility will include: leading the registration process, providing regular updates to the Ortus Club team, delivering an introduction speech, and coordinating with the venue as needed.CompensationYou will be compensated $300 for the event, lasting approximately 4-5 hours per event.ResponsibilitiesRepresent The Ortus Club at events and fulfill the role of event organizerLead the registration process and provide regular updates to the teamDeliver an introduction speech at the eventCoordinate with the venue as necessaryEnsure all printed Ortus Club material is received and placed properlyWelcome guests and assist them with any needs they may haveEnsure that guests have a seamless experienceQualificationsMust be based in VancouverFluency in EnglishStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients, guests, and venue staffConfidence and professionalism in representing The Ortus Club at eventsKeen attention to detailAbility to adapt and problem-solve in a dynamic event environment.Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with guests and encourage their attendance at future events
