Our client, a reputable company in the electrical contracting industry, is seeking a Junior Financial Accountant for a hands-on permanent opportunity based in Halifax, NS. The successful candidate will be a key member of the finance team, providing day-to-day reconciliation, analysis, and financial support to the company and its entities.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Intercompany billing and reconciliations
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Compilation of financial reporting packages
• Inventory management and job costing
• Cash and banking reconciliation support
• AP reconciliation and analysis
• AR collections, reconciliation and analysis
• Payroll timesheet collection, input, and analysis
• Other accounting and analysis duties and projects as needed

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• Post-secondary education in accounting of finance
• Enrollment in or desire to enroll in the CPA program
• Previous experience in a finance/accounting role within a multi-company environment is an asset
• Strong technical skills with advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Office Suite
• Experience and proficiency with Jonas software is an asset
• Proven attention to detail with a thorough and meticulous work ethic
• Professional, organized with superior communication skills
• Multi-tasker with ability to meet deadlines & prioritize tasks, and works well under pressure
