Job Number: J1223-0578 Job Title: HOSTESS/HOST, 1 ELGIN Employment Type: Part-Time continuing Job Category: Hospitality Open Positions: 1 Posting Date: December 15, 2023 Closing Date: January 21, 2024 Salary: $19.85 - $19.85/Hour Language Requirement: Bilingual Working Hours: Afternoon, evening, holidays and weekends Job Reports To: Restaurant Manager Key Activities The Hostess/Host is accountable for greeting guests and assisting the supervisor in providing prompt, efficient and courteous service at all times. The Hostess/Host is responsible for taking reservations for 1 Elgin restaurant as well as daily preparation of the restaurant reservation list. This position requires a high degree of diplomacy given the liaising tasks associated with seating guests in sections associated with each member of the serving staff. Skill Requirements Completed a high school diploma; One (1) year of experience in a similar fine dining position; Finely honed customer service skills; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work well under pressure; Ability to work well in a team environment; and demonstrate solid relationship building skills; Ability to follow specific direction; Physical work will be required; Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis; Must be able to stand & exert well-paced mobility for up to 12 hours; Available to work an irregular schedule (afternoons, evenings and weekend shifts); Fluency in both official languages is required; A past record of satisfactory attendance and punctuality is a requirement.* Regular attendance at work is an expectation of employment and an essential part of every job.
