Host/hostess

We are looking for a host/hostess to greet all our guests in a prompt and courteous manner, seating the guests and thanking them for their business as they depart

Responsibilities:

• Welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting

• Escort guests to the tables and assist in seating at tables, present menus, pour water and extend pleasantries

• Offer a cordial farewell to every guest, thanking them for dining and inviting them back

• Communicates constantly with management and service staff to ensure efficient operations

• Maintain positive relations with our guests at all times

• Maintain complete knowledge of scheduled daily activities in the garden, hours of operation, and general garden knowledge

• Answer restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently

• Speak to guests and co-workers using clear, appropriate and professional language

• Anticipate guests' service needs, including asking questions of guests to better understand their needs and watching/listening to guest preferences and acting on them whenever possible

• Engage guests in conversation regarding their visit to the gardens and the town of St. Andrews

• Move and arrange tables, chairs, and settings and organize seating for groups with special needs with a minimal amount of disturbance to other guests

• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the shift

• Notify management of maintenance repair issues

• Performs all other job-related duties as requested
