Utility/Domestic Worker/ Laundry

Food Service Worker I & II

Location: Happy Valley-Goose Bay

Reporting to the Regional Director and/or the Manager of Environmental/Laundry Services, the primary purpose of the Utility/Domestic/Laundry positions is to perform a variety of tasks to facilitate a safe, clean and sterile environment at the Labrador-Grenfell Health Facilities.

Reporting to the Food Operations Manager or designate, the primary purpose of the Food Service Worker I & II is to organize and serve foods and perform tasks related to food service.

Qualifications (May Include Some Of The Following)

" Graduation from High School or equivalent;

" Knowledge of the chemicals, cleaning practices, equipment and supplies used in the process is an asset;

" Willingness to enroll in and complete the basic course in Environmental Services and Infection Control;

" Ability to work effectively with co-workers and other departments;

" Initiative to meet the written Goals & Objectives of the department using methods and products approved by the department under minimal supervision;

" Be in a state of health which allows effective performance of all duties within the job description;

" Ability to learn and apply food values and therapeutic diets;

" Ability to take directions and learn techniques involved in the safe use and care of food service equipment and kitchen utensils;

" Ability to learn and apply safe food handling procedures/practices;

" Ability to organize daily tasks while managing competing demands on time;

" Ability to maneuver heavy carts throughout the hospital/home;

" Experience in institutional receiving, preparation and service of food, and in safe and sanitary food handling, and janitorial work;

" Able to perform heavy manual tasks and store keeping activities;

" Valid Driver's License;

" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.

Duties

" Vary by position and can be made available upon request.

Salary

" Laundry: CG-18 level at $18.51 - $19.95 per hour, in addition to the applicable Labrador Allowance.

" Utility/Domestic: CG-19 level at $18.89 - $20.39 per hour, in addition to the applicable Labrador Allowance.

" Food Service Worker I: CG-20 level at $19.26 - $20.89 per hour, in addition to the applicable Labrador Allowance.

" Food Service Worker II: CG-21 level at $19.60 - $21.36 per hour, in addition to the applicable Labrador Allowance.
