Overall Purpose of the Job
The Field Service Technician (TRS) is responsible for performing jobsite-based operations associated with Tubular Running Services. Shop duties will be performed as scheduled and/or as required.
Key Activities And Accountabilities
Responsible for operating our complete service line including Casing Running Tools, Power tongs, Computer Torque Monitoring, Tubular Supervision and several other technical products and services.
Maintain compliance with the OH&S Responsibilities depicted in the QHSE Integrated Management System Manual and Local OH&S regulations. Occupational Health & Safety Responsibilities for Workers and Offshore Protocol / Code of Conduct
Work safely, as per the QHSE Integrated Management System, and to encourage other the companies employees to work safely.
Strive to ensure that each job is performed in a manner that abides by all laws and regulations and has a “ZERO HARM” environment.
Strive to maintain a workplace that is as free as reasonably possible of occupational health and safety hazards.
Inspect the workplace to identify and control health and safety hazards. Inspections are to be performed before, during and after operations, on an on-going basis and must be documented on an acceptable format for the workplace.
Ensure you and your co-workers have all information required to perform your work safely and correctly. Ensure there is clear, complete and accurate information on quality requirements, process standards, potential health and safety risks, and potential process difficulties. Request further information where you think that there is information missing and/or request clarification if the provided information is not fully understood.
Follow company and customer requirements with respect to the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). If necessary, remind other the companies employees of the proper procedures and rules. Document and report any violations committed by employees by using Company or Customer Hazard ID programs.
Participate and promote Expro Observation Program and report observations to Station QHSE – Coordinator and/or Station Management. Participate in customer / Rig Contractor Safety Programs.
Assist in reviewing or completing JSA’s / TSTP’s etc., associated with the operations being performed.
Demonstrate a commitment to operational excellence by complying with all QHSE Integrated Management System requirements.
Upon arrival at the worksite, ensure that all tools and equipment are cross referenced on the mobilization documents and / or ETM Delivery Tickets. Utilize checklists provided to inspect and test tools and equipment. Verify size, type, configuration, etc. is appropriate for work scope. Ensure that the appropriate spare equipment is available as per the mobilization documents and / or ETM Delivery Tickets.
Maintain and perform minor field repairs on the company’s tools and equipment while on the work site, as directed by the Operations Base Manager / Project Manager / On Call Supervisor / Tubular Service Supervisor Maintain and perform minor shop repairs on the companies’ tools and equipment as directed by the Shop Service Supervisor.
Job Knowledge And Qualifications
Minimum of two years’ experience in related field / shop experience or a combination of skill and experience acceptable to the Operations Supervisor.
The ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work as an individual and as part of a team.
Strong work ethic.
A valid driver’s license.
Requires an operational understanding of the company’s owned and operated equipment.
The ability to perform moderately hard physical labor.
Successful completion of the assigned training and competencies for the position.
Successful completion in Safety Training required for offshore travel, i.e. (H2S, WHMIS, First Aid, etc.).
The ability to obtain and retain a valid offshore survival certificate and Medical Examination Certificate.
Clear Criminal Record check
This position has been defined as Risk / Safety Sensitive and therefore personnel in this position must comply with the Drug and Alcohol Procedure. Therefore, a negative screening result is required for pre-employment consideration, post incident testing, due cause, and all customer contract requirements.
Be available to travel by Helicopter and Supply Vessel to customer’s rig site.
Minimum 12-hour shift work.
Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, crawl, twist, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs and ladders, identify colors, hear, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry 50lbs or more, perceive depth, operate a motor vehicle and operate motorized equipment.
Working conditions include working inside and outside in all types of weather. Working around moving objects, moving vehicles and machines with moving parts. Working around radiant and electrical energy. Working closely with others, working alone, working extended or irregular hours and travelling by all possible modes of transportation. Working environment may include but not limited to excessive, intermittent or constant noise, fumes, smoke, gases, grease, dust, oils and solvents.
Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but not limited to computer and related equipment, calculator, special instrumentation, forklift, pallet jack, hand tools, power tools, air tools, telephone, and automobile.
Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, hardhat, reinforced toed shoes, fire-retardant coveralls, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.
Working at heights.
Sitting for long periods of time in an office environment or during travel.
Extended work shifts to meet deadlines; weekends as required.
