About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Cancer and Palliative Care Services. This is a pivotal clerical position, contributing to the efficient, coordinated flow of patients, documents, charts and information within the Palliative Care Service. This position requires a mastery of general office and organizational skills to ensure the overall efficiency of the Palliative Care Services, with a specific focus on computer-based data entry, chart prep, CWS clinical bookings and transcription.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate of a recognized Business/Secretarial/Office Information Technology or Bachelor of Information Systems Program, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Medical Terminology Course required
  • Previous secretarial experience an asset
  • Advanced working knowledge and proficiency with a variety of computer software applications, specifically Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment and also effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Experience with Electronic Forms Respiratory (EFR) Preferred
  • Experience working with Electronic Systems, such as Meditech (Registration/CWS) SHARE, Outlook, Microsoft, EMR electronic medical records preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory control and record keeping an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills (direct interaction with volunteers, staff and public)
  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Competencies in other languages preferred; French an asset

Compensation and Incentives

$24.69 - $27.53 Hourly
