Job Description
Position Overview The Office of Associate Dean Research in the Cumming School of Medicine is currently seeking a Full-time Limited Termr Research Operations Coordinator for approximately 24 months. This position reports to the Director, Research Operations with accountability to the Director, Strategic Platforms. The Office of the Associate Dean, Research (OADR) Infrastructure encompasses a wide portfolio of post award activities, strategic research platforms, research core facilities and the Endowments and Chairs and Professorships portfolio. This position plays a key role in the effective operations of the OADR. Position Description Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to): Responsible for maintaining space assignments in the Archibus system. Requires working with the leadership of the School and Institutes to obtain accurate information Detail is very important since many leadership decisions are based on space assignment and availability Responsible for communicating in a timely manner any impacts related to ongoing infrastructure projects in the CSM. This is vitally important since it can affect ongoing research programs. Assist in the management of small-scale projects, keep management informed of what is happening, provide administrative support and keep accurate timelines Monitor office email accounts and respond to questions and issues Understand all aspects of the office Responsible for providing training, responding to task requests, and troubleshooting issues with Mosaic Vivarium software program Responsible for providing services under Medmoves (keys, signs, phone/computer move/changes, other requests) Responsible for coordinating small equipment repairs between external contractors and research community through Biomedical Technical Support Centre (BTSC) Responsible for coordinating with vendors to organize annual Southern Alberta Scientific Equipment (SASE) trade show Qualifications / Requirements: Undergraduate degree in Science Understanding of School Research Core facilities Knowledge of building footprints and strong understanding of research laboratories Previous laboratory work considered an asset Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Ability to interact professionally and confidentially with many levels of stakeholders within and outside of the Research Office Strong time management and problem-solving skills Knowledge of Microsoft office Adobe editing skills an asset Understanding of PeopleSoft systems preferred Understanding of Adobe Marketo systems preferred Understanding of Mosaic Vivarium systems preferred Application Deadline: January 17, 2024 We would like to thank all applicants in advance for submitting their resumes.
