THE POSITION
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an
Accounting Officer. The Accounting Officer will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions while building strong relationships with branch personnel and other members of the finance team. The Accounting Officer will provide quality financial services with the highest standard of excellence and professionalism.
Responsibilities
Accounting Services:
- Maintain and reconcile financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Process daily transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Perform General Ledger account reconciliations, transaction processing and posting, adjusting entries, inputting expenditures and revenue, verification, and control.
- Prepare month-end and year-end financial statements and reports for management and regulatory authorities.
- Aid in the preparation of the annual audit files and budget as requested.
- Provide information to external and internal auditors on account matters.
Administration And Team Support
- Reviewing and actioning on various administrative reports.
- Primary back-up for Clearing Officer position.
- Stay updated on accounting principles, industry regulations, and best practices.
- Other accounting and administrative duties as required.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Qualifications
- Detail-Oriented and demonstrates accuracy.
- Time management skills.
- Strong Computer Skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding of financial terminology and financial principles.
- Positive outlook and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ideally has a minimum of two years of working in a financial service setting.
Education and Training
- College diploma or university degree in a business discipline or sufficient experience in lieu of education.
