24008 - Security Operator [Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation (NSLC)]
Job Description
The
Security Operator is responsible for the monitoring of security equipment and platforms to identify and manage security risks associated with NSLC operations. As a primary point of contact, the Security Operator manages security information, provides advice, and dispatches appropriate responses to identified risks. The position is required to review data, collect evidence, enter data related to security incidents and responses and create reports.
This role is based out of our Security Operations Centre (93 Chain Lake Drive) which is open 24 hours. Hours of work are based on a 35-hour rotating schedule.
Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities:
- Dispatch appropriate responses to inquiries, incidents, and intelligence reported
- Maintain, triage, and communicate awareness related to criminal activity, emergency incidents, and security concerns
- Intake requests for service and data received at the Security Operations Center
- Operate security monitoring equipment
- Provide guidance to loss prevention team members working in the Retail Network, as well as Retail team members
- Complete intake and triage of requests for maintenance related to security equipment
- Provide protective security services for Head Office and the Distribution Center
- Provide direction and advice to contracted service provider
- Liaise with local frontline law enforcement related to the intake or reporting of incidents
- Prepare evidence disclosure packages
- Court testimony on behalf of the NSLC
Secondary Responsibilities
- Provide First Aid response at Head Office and the Distribution Centre
- Provide protective security services at NSLC special events
- Remain current on corporate and business unit policies, practices, and procedures
- Remain current related to applicable regulatory direction and security equipment deployed across the network
- Demonstrate commitment to the NSLC's Values and social responsibility mandate
- Demonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
As a qualified candidate, you will have:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- 1-3 years' experience in Loss Prevention, enforcement, security and/or contact centre
- Experience with the use, maintenance, or installation of security hardware
- The ability to complete a Criminal Record check upon hire, or provide one issued within the past 6 months
As The Ideal Candidate, You Will Also Have
- Certificate or Diploma in related field
- Experience with related technology (Such as, MS Office, Video Management Systems, Record Management Systems, Call Centre Software Systems, etc)
- Experience in assisting in criminal, civil, compliance investigations
- Experience working in multi-unit retail, wholesale, or service environments
An alternate combination of education and experience may be considered equivalent.
