Are you an Underwriting Analyst Expert Insurance looking for a new opportunity?Are you looking for a new contract opportunity?We are pleased to offer you a new contract opportunity for you to consider: Underwriting AnalystStart: ASAPEstimated length: 12 monthsLocation: TorontoActively seeking for candidates with below requirementsAdvantagesYou will have an opportunity to work with a leading employer in the local market.ResponsibilitiesProvide the underwriting groundwork on renewals and proposals, from which the Underwriters derive the technical information they require to negotiate retention of the existing block of business and to prepare and present competitive new business proposals.Using company designed Excel applications, gather and manipulate Premium, Claims and Reserve information for renewals.Review specifications provided for new business proposals and derive key premium, claim, and eligibility information required for pricing purposes.Validate renewal and proposal information for reasonableness Create and update renewal and proposal calculation spreadsheetsWork directly with Canadian Underwriters and MBPS Underwriting Support AnalystsCoordinate appropriate peer review of completed renewals and if required, ensure changes are incorporated in the renewalPrepare the electronic renewal mail-out packageComplete the Sold process for renewals which includes updating required systems with sold information and ensuring sold rates are provided to the appropriate Underwriting Support Team for codingPrepare the pricing calculations on amendment requests.Support the Underwriter and group office in client servicingProduce a variety of reports (i.e. Experience, Drug claims, etc…) using company Reporting toolsResearch problems, plan changes and contract wordingProduce high quality work that requires great attention to detailInteract with other Group Benefit areas to resolve issues and/or gather information (i.e. Pricing, Plan Design Services, Sponsor Financial Services, Client Financial Reporting, Client Custom Reporting, and others as needed)QualificationsDemonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, Group Life and Health concepts, benefits and productsAbility to manage high volumes, fluctuating workloads and multiple priorities within set time constraintsStrong mathematical aptitude Excellent PC and Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel (i.e. create pivot tables, perform Vlook-ups)Strong analytical, strategic and problem solving ability to recognize issues, outline possible implications and provide solutions Demonstrated flexibility and judgment in a dynamic, ever changing environmentExcellent organization and administrative skillsStrong focus on the customer, level of service provided and quality of workStrong communication skills – written and verbal – French and EnglishDetail orientedUniversity degree is preferredBasic understanding of accounting principlesLOMA AND CEBS certification is encouraged and recommendedAttained, working on, or willing to complete, the GBA designationSummaryDo you have this experience?
