As a Technical Support Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in our IS/IT team, reporting directly to the VP of IS/IT. You'll be responsible for investigating moderate and complex technical issues, ensuring the validity of the problems, and providing top-notch solutions. Your primary focus will be delivering first-level technical and application support to our talented StarFish employees. Location Victoria, BC Salary range $64,500 CAD - $82,100 CAD for this position. Annual variable compensation tied to goal completion targets up to 5% of the base salary. Employees are also eligible to earn profit sharing. Candidates demonstrating strong abilities may be considered for a different position with increased compensation. Some events cater to the individual, and others to their family 50% BC Transit and Pro PASS Transit Pass Shower facilities for midday runs or biking to work; Galloping Goose access close by Free parking on-site or around the premises What your typical day looks like: Provide front-line support for service requests, ensuring a courteous, timely, and effective response/resolution Manage and prioritize the service request queue and escalation to Tier III Support Windows 10 and Mac OS desktop operating systems Support Microsoft 365, MS Teams, SharePoint, and multiple COTS applications Troubleshoot hardware devices such as printers, telephones, video conferencing units, and other peripheral devices Diagnose and resolve minor network issues (e.g., WAN/LAN, Wireless, and VPN access) Maintain inventory of all desktop computer hardware Participates in or undertakes project-related tasks when appropriate What You Bring To The Team The StarFish team is talented, innovative, and passionate about developing cutting-edge medical devices for our clients to improve people's lives. You are suited to our approach and possess these attributes: Post-secondary education in Computer Science or equivalent Excellent knowledge of the principles, methodologies, tools, and techniques in providing technical desktop support Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Active Directory Familiar with remote desktop management and support tools Experience and expertise in Information Technology Information Library (ITIL) methodologies Knowledge of diagnosing and resolving minor network issues (e.g., WAN/LAN, Wireless, and VPN access) is a huge plus These skills and abilities will help you thrive Ability to gather information, diagnose and analyze complex technical issues and deliver creative and innovative solutions Ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade Windows operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with various customers with varying computer abilities Reliable and accountable Available for after-hours maintenance or after-hours projects About StarFish Medical It is Canada's leading Medical Device Design service provider with a full complement of design, development, and manufacturing services in Victoria and Toronto.
