Job Summary & Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Demonstrator/Instructor (multiple positions available)

WORK ASSIGNMENT: PHYT 6218.4 – Integrated Practice II (June 24th to July 26th, 2024 inclusive of Exam Period)

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Numerous instructors will be required to assist the course leader by teaching practical skills and techniques in the laboratory, and/or facilitating tutorial components of this 2nd year MScPT course. Labs will run 2-3 times per week, Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30-3:30 and Fridays from 8:30am-1:30pm or 12:30-3:30pm.

Description of the duties:

o Attendance at Lab orientation session (1 hr prior to June 24th, date TBD).

o Preparation in advance for each lab and to be knowledgeable about the content provided in the lab handout.

o During labs, review and teach practical skills as outlined in the lab handout.

o Promote a professional environment for safe and effective student learning.

o The instructor will also act as an examiner in the mid-term and final practical exams and evaluate the students’ performance throughout the course and in these exams.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position

Candidates must be licensed Physiotherapists. A Master’s degree and /or advanced continuing education courses preferred along with strong clinical expertise.

All offers of employment as a Part-Time Academic are conditional upon sufficient student enrolment in the course and approval by the University.
