Cvent seeks a dynamic Portfolio Manager to effectively oversee a balanced multi-portfolio consisting of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) initiatives and the Product Development Greenlight Process. This role is uniquely split between managing a portfolio of cutting-edge AI/ML projects that predominantly interface with internal tools and
systems, and guiding product development approvals across the company.
- AI Portfolio Management: Lead a diverse range of AI/ML initiatives, aligning them with Cvent’s strategic objectives. Utilize specialized AI/ML knowledge and statistical analysis for robust project evaluation.
- Product Development Greenlight Management: Own and evolve the Product Development Project Intake (Greenlight) process, guiding new and roadmap approved proposals from concept through project start and consulting on prioritization and value propositions
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster cohesive project execution across both portfolios, collaborating with diverse teams.
- Strategic Oversight: Provide comprehensive strategic direction and risk management for AI/ML initiatives and product development processes.
- Effective Communication: Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders, effectively reporting on project status and strategic decisions.
- Leadership and Team Development: Mentor and develop teams, promoting an environment of continuous improvement and adaptive learning.
- Portfolio Reporting: Deliver status updates for communication planning and portfolio management.
- Risk Management: Implement and refine risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Portfolio Health: Conduct analyses to understand and improve upon actual vs. planned project variances.
- Continued Growth/Education: Stay abreast of industry trends, the competitive landscape, and sector activity, particularly in AI/ML and product development.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Project Portfolio Management Experience: Proven history of managing one or more Project Portfolios at the Enterprise level.
- Project Management Experience: 6-8 years in program or project management using PMI and Agile methodologies, with a focus on enterprise SaaS.
- AI/ML Experience: At least 3 years in managing Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning projects.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in AI or ML methodologies, statistical analysis, and familiarity with relevant tools and technologies.
- Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification. AI, ML, or Data Science certifications highly regarded.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Leadership: Proven ability in managing complex project portfolios with a focus on team development and stakeholder management.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, adaptability, and collaborative skills.
- Negotiation: Negotiation training or experience. Strong opinions, weakly held.
