Definition Of Work
The Storekeeper I is responsible for the daily receipt, storage, issue and delivery of supplies from a central stores location. The daily workload is performed with considerable independence. The Storekeeper I operates in a computerized environment and will be expected to prioritize and ensure that clearly defined service levels and standards are maintained. Your daily work is checked for completeness and accuracy by the Stores Supervisor for conformance to established policies and procedures. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
Physical Demands

- Constantly lifts/moves object up to 50 lbs. and occasionally 50+lbs. Push/Pulling forces up to 50lbsF are required
- Work tasks require constant gross motor skills to maneuver handling equipment. (e.g. Pallet-jacks, carts, trolleys, Dolly etc.)
- Constantly stands and walks in the performance of job duties. Walking up to 500m may be required multiple times daily. Awkward or cramped positions required when working in congested work areas
- Work Environments present potential for exposure to scented/chemical products and/or other allergens within publicly accessible areas
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
- Class V driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform assigned duties.
- Consistent demonstration of Central Health's corporate values; Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Stewardship and Quality
- A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
- A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
Hours of work: Call as Needed (Shift work may be required)
Salary: CG 24 ($22.41 - $24.69)
